With minimum disruption, we have completed the move into our new premises.  The main problems were with our telephone lines and Broadband connections so apologies to those who experienced difficulties in getting hold of us.  We are still working at our display area, workshop but that should be completed over the next few weeks.

Text Box: New Distributorship - Solarbotics

We are very pleased to announce that we have been appointed distributor for Solarbotics from the USA.  We already stocked a number of their products from one of their agents but now we can supply a much greater range at improved pricing.

So who are Solarbotics?  Solarbotics offer competition robot kits, solar powered robots, motors wheels especially aimed at BEAM robotics but also very suitable for antweight and super antweight robots.  Their products are also suitable for generally modeling.

Product range:  Motors from under 1g in weight, geared motors from 1.2g.  One rather nice product is a geared motor in a standard servo sized case.  They also have a wide range of wheels, some will fit directly onto Futaba servos, some with aluminium hubs, one is only 9mm in diameter.  We have also included some of their kits including the Sumovore sumo robot & the L293D motor driver.  We also have a range of PVC sheet in 2,3 & 6mm thicknesses, it can be cut with a knife and bends formed with a moderate heat.

More model wheels including these aluminium hub ones from Solarbotics

Test out those receiver batteries under load, a more realistic reading than you get from a simple voltmeter test

Our range of Robonova accessories continues to grow with the introduction of a distance sensor, tilt sensor, 2-axis accelerometer and sonar detector.  Also, a servo tester, receiver battery load tester, switch harnesses, a low cost 40MHz FM receiver for Futaba radios, a continuous rotation servo (no more modifying servos for super antweight drives), and more.

We never cease to be amazed by what is built using many of the products we supply.  So here’s your chance to impress us by sending in a picture of your creation with a brief write up describing what parts you purchased from Technobots.  We will award a £50 for the entry which we judge to show the greatest ingenuity & creativity.  We will also put the winners creation on our website for all to see.  So don’t be modest and get those entries in to us at newsletter@technobots.co.uk

Closing date 22 October 2006.
