Hi, I'm planning on using some of your Steel Spur Gears in an upcoming robot, and am currently desgining it. I've asked around, and apparantly, for designing gearboxes accurately (i.e. getting gears the proper distance apart so that they mesh properly) I need a measurement called 'Pitch Circle Diameter'. Is it possible to get this measurement for your range of spur gears so I can design accurately?

Thanks in advance,

Scott

Scott,

If you visit our Steel Spur Gears section, you can download a data sheet. Alternatively look for data sheet 4200-004 in the data sheets section. On here, simply look for the Dp value and this is the PCD number you are looking for. Simply add the two Dp values for any two meshing gears, divide by two and this gives the distance apart of the centres of the two meshing gears.
